Velcro Abrasive Hand Files

Velcro abrasive hand files are used in much the same as an emery stick for hand filing, polishing etc.

The flat file works well to maintain flat surfaces.

The abrasive is backed with velcro which means strips can be changed quickly and easily to change grit or when they wear out.

A large, useful size (size of the abrasive strip) 30 x 195mm

Use this file with the refill velcro strips (sold separately in packs of 25)

Used by hand.

  • Strips are available in 60, 120, 180, 240, 320 and 400 grit.
  • Also in foam backed in 60, 120, 220, 400 and 600 grit

Popular with fabricators, foundaries, sculptors, hobbyists, wood carvers etc

For Engineers

These hand files are excellent for edge-work, smoothing and removing burrs. The size is suitable for larger scale work in particular fabrication, foundry/scultpture and engine components.

For Jewellers

These files are handy for larger scale work such as bangles and silversmithing. The coarser grades suit initial finishing and shaping. We would advise 400 grit upwards for precious metals. The foam backed abrasive is softer to use and contours a little for curved forms. The file itself is not flexible like Micro mesh flexifiles.
